10 things to consider before buying an under brace Swing Jib Crane.

Swing jib cranes have 2 parts a swing arm and a column. We normally supply them with an electric or manual chain block, usually with a hand push travel hoist trolley. Service interval is 12 monthly; based on normal usage with one factory shift per day.

If AG Cranes supply an electric chain-hoist with a swing jib crane we will also dispatch an electrical festoon system including, festoon cables, festoon cable trolleys, as well as an on/off switch.

AG Cranes Ltd swing jib-cranes are usually underbraced in style for the best hook headroom available. We also supply overbraced swing jibs as well.

In terms of your electric chain hoist we can supply your swing jib with either a Donati, a Demag or a Stahl three phase 415 volt chain hoist, new or used with a warranty of up to 3 years. You choose.

Installing a swinging jib arm crane.

Most customers ask about the depth of their factory floor before an order is placed. The rule of thumb being up to 500kg SWL is usually ok, but the floor has to be the clients responsibility. Please check it.

Most swing jib cranes take between 4 and 8 bolts that we use chemical resin to secure them to the ground with. As an example a Hilti M20 bolts requires an embedment depth of 170mm.

A good quality reinforced concrete floor is always preferred, however if you are unsure we also offer ground anchors or an extra large base plate. The extra large base bolts to the ground and the jib column is then bolted to the base before testing with a 25% overload.

Once tested and paid for in full we issue a test certificate and the swing jib will be left with a serial number and a SWL sticker; E.G. SWL 250kgs, serial number AG212/001.
